Sexy, fun, and flirty are the best adjectives to describe the new Carmen Flounce Skirt by our lovely Ann of Designer Stitch Patterns. When I first saw the Carmen Skirt before testing, I instantly knew this skirt was my style. It screams sassy with a pile of jalapenos on the side. It’s hot, hot!
You can keep it short and sweet with the knee length or long and elegant with the long length. Either length comes with the option of a straight waistband or a contoured high waistband. As an added bonus, this skirt can be sized down if you want a knit skirt with an elasticized waist.
I can’t tell you how much this skirt has been a confidence booster for me. I have had so many compliments while wearing it. It’s so fun and different.
I made three Carmens. The first was the high waistband in a Caribbean blue linen which was absolutely perfect for the Carmen. I had to make some adjustments to the waistband and ran out of fabric to redo it, so it’s sitting in my to-do pile.
The second skirt which I’m featuring here is the knit version in a gorgeous red and black fabric with flocked roses by Knitpop, one of my favorite knit fabric shops. I paired my skirt with a black sleeveless shirt I’d had for over 10 years. But you can also make the Eleni top to wear with the Carmen.
The third skirt which I haven’t had time to take pictures of yet is the long version and it’s probably a close second to this knit version. I can’t wait to show you in my next post!
The Carmen is fast to sew and the fit is amazing. It’s the ideal skirt for a night out dancing and dining with your significant other.
